L-theanine is a water-soluable, non-protein amino acid most commonly found in green tea. It can also be found in black tea and some varieties of mushrooms. The cool thing about L-theanine is it has calming effects, without making you tired.
When combined with caffeine, L-theanine can improve attention and focus. The calming properties can help counteract the jittery, anxious feelings often associated with caffeine intake.
